Youth Merit Incentive Award Program

All awardees are required to attend Orientation which is scheduled for Wednesday August 19th from 5pm-7pm at the McGavick Student Center on the campus of Clover Park Technical School. Parents are welcomed to attend but it is not mandatory. During this event we will acclimate the awardees to the student center where the ceremony will take place, discuss the role of the awardees during the ceremony and take photos of each awardee.

Photos will be taken and then displayed at the Tacoma Mall and the South Hill Mall. This is an important part of showcasing our African American Youth, so we ask that all awardees dress in a uniformed way.

All photos will be shown from the chest up in the display so it is not important what you wear waist down. However, it is very important you wear something white waist up.

Young Men should wear a white shirt w/tie.

Young Women should wear a white blouse or white dress.

If you don’t come dressed appropriately, your photo will not be taken. We will not have photo retakes this year.

Also, please remember to bring Photo ID to the Orientation as we will be checking in awardees. We want to make sure all awardee information (spelling of names, school year) is accurate before we print out the programs for the awards ceremony.
